We are greatly influenced by our origins. As growing fetuses and young children we are sensorial beings. In womb-time, we float in the unresolved energies of our ancestors: the emotional landscapes of our mother, family members, their social and cultural influences and political and economic pressures. Together with the emotional atmosphere and physical experiences of our unique birth processes and early childhood conditioning, we are unconsciously and strongly influenced, or perhaps traumatized, into what we believe about ourselves. This early conditioning determines how we perceive we should act, and how we feel we need to communicate throughout our lives and our relationships. Unresolved over time, these early traumas keep us cycling and suffering in hurtful relational patterns.
